Lesson Objectives and Demands
Content Objectives:
Students will know the seasons of the year.
Students will be able to draw what seasons look like.

Assessment: Students will be assessed using a check sheet. o Student participated in activity o Student had all seasons o Student made each season have correct characteristics o Student had the seasons in the correct order

Key Vocabulary in Lesson: Season, weather, hot, cold, snow, leaves, summer, fall, spring, and winter. Lesson Considerations Materials: Powerpoint/prezi, construction paper, markers/crayons/colored pencils, and sample. Prior Academic Learning and Prerequisite Skills: Students need to have experienced weather. Students need to know the order of the months. Students need to have a general concept of seasons. Misconceptions: Since Alabama had mild winters, students may not relate well to the general overview of winter. Students may confuse the seasons. Students could think I was talking about sports seasons (eg football season). Modifications: I have a hearing impaired student and I will wear a microphone. Lesson Plan Details: Write a detailed outline of your class session including instructional strategies, learning tasks, key questions, key transitions, student supports, assessment strategies, and conclusion. Your outline should be detailed enough that another teacher could understand them well enough to use them. Include what you will do as a teacher and what your students will be doing during each lesson phase. Include a few key time guidelines. Note: The italicized statements and scaffolding questions are meant to guide your thinking and planning. You do not need to answer them explicitly or address each one in your plan. Learning Activities - “During”:
• Pull up the Prezi
• I will go through the Prezi stopping on each slide and will explain thoroughly what makes each season special, and answer question the students have.
• Play the video inside of the Prezi.
• Okay, now we are going the do a craft! I need the leader from each table to come and get a craft box!
• Everyone needs a piece of paper. Once you have the paper fold it like a hamburger, then lay it back normal. Now, fold it like a hotdog and then put it back normal. Can you see where the creases are? Draw lines on the creases. Here is an example.
• Okay, I am going to write the names of the seasons on the board for you to copy. Make sure you put them in order. When you have all the boxes labeled draw what each season is like.
• I will give the students about 30 minutes to complete their work.
Closure - “After”:
• Okay, it’s time to clean up!
• Help children clean up and pack up art boxes.
