Culture shapes folklore because it’s the people in that culture that tell the folklores and so the folklores are shaped around how they tell it. Oral traditions helped folklore evolve because when one person tells a story then others tell the same story till many know it. Oral traditions are important for the growth of a community because it teaches the people of the community about their culture and keeps the traditions going. Without oral traditions, culture would change because the teachings through those stories help keep their culture similar to their original culture. If the Greek didn’t have folklore’s there culture would lose their beliefs, history, and religion. In the Mythology of Arachne, Arachne was a young girl that was known for spinning the finest threads and when people started noticing it she got more confident and would boast on how good he is at it and one day she said she is even better then the gods well that mad the god of wisdom and crafts Athena was angry that she degraded the gods so she challenged her to see who was really the best when Arachne won the Athena became feriouse and turned Arachne into the first ever spider to remind her of her human forms gift.
