Transformational leadership is important in social work because we need to create leaders out of our clients so that they can start to advocate for themselves (Elliott & Asghar, 2014). Transformation leadership is defined as a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. In its ideal form, it creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders (Elliott & Asghar, 2014). Enacted in its authentic form, transformational leadership enhances the motivation, morale and performance of followers through a variety of mechanisms (Elliott & Asghar, 2014). While traditional leadership is often limited to individuals with specific traits who occupy roles of power and authority, constructivist leadership offers a fluid and dynamic notion of leadership that transcends personalities and roles (Lambert, 2002) . In fact, within the model of constructivist leadership, all participants within the school community - principals, teachers, administrators and students -- possess the capacity and responsibility to contribute to the well being of their schools. I use my ability to get things done everyday for example my job is an executive assistant and everyday I am given several different task that must be done, and on most occasions I am the only person who knows how to do it and or how to get it done. Therefore I use my source of power to get things accomplished every single day I am the go to person at my job (information power) to get to the big bosses and I use my position to interact with people every day that I might not have otherwise done so. I am the go to person for lots of different things at my job, like party planner, scheduler, and travel consultant, (expert power) point of contact for several big projects.
My behavior is quit beneficial it keeps me right in the center of all of the activates in my job, I know every project that is beginning worked on, I know all of the key players and it gives my great networking opportunities. If I could do things over I would be better at editing documents and writing this would make me a much more valuable person within my company giving me more leverage to ask for a few things like a raise or a job promotion, if I could show them that I am capable of handling so much
