Although I like the transparency, ethical behavior, and overall positive psychological capital that is generated by authentic leadership, it is still a relatively new avenue of exploration, falling short on extensive research at this time (Northouse, 2016). Authentic leadership seems to share a common source with transformational leadership, such as promoting positive change in an inspiring and conscientious way (Bensen, 2015). For this reason, I tend to envision a transformational leadership approach with a broad stroke of authentic leadership when thinking about my leadership philosophy. Looking toward a vision of the future, motivating followers to reach that vision, and maintaining high integrity and determination in the face of this type of change is paramount to a successful transformational leader (Bensen,
