Surveillance footage supports this claim that Michael stole the cigars and left the scene. Officer Darren Wilson arrived at the location about 10 minutes after the call. Scanning nearby streets, Officer Wilson sees two males matching the descriptions that were given by dispatch. Officer Wilson quickly calls out to them to step onto the sidewalk and stop. This half of the story is all according to social media and some news reports from a select number of witnesses. Officer Wilson began shouting at them, saying, “Get the f*** on the sidewalk" or "Get the f*** out of the street,” according to Johnson (“What happened when Michael Brown…”, 2014), the friend with Michael at the time of the altercation. Johnson told Officer Wilson that they were only a few minutes away from their destination. Upon hearing this, Officer Wilson put his car into reverse and began to drive at a rapid speed towards the two males. Barely missing Michael and Johnson, Officer Wilson tried throwing open his door, but could not due to how close he had driven to the two individuals. Officer Wilson then proceeded to reach out of his windows and grab Michael by the neck. Obviously startled, Johnson quickly tried to pull away Michael from Officer Wilson’s grip.
