When discussing weight loss, the first thing that comes to the mind is the fact that a person needs to do dieting and exercise for loosing weight. In addition to these methods there are several surgical methods also available for weight loss. A new surgical method of reducing fats from the body that is gaining popularity is laser liposuction. Also known as laser lipo or smart lipo, this method has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. This technique was developed by Cynosure.

Laser lipo is gaining popularity for several reasons. One of the reasons is that it is considered to be the safest type of liposuction that can be carried out on a patient. When performed, the surgeon uses a local anesthesia and thus the risks associated with the general anesthesia are eliminated. The effects of laser lipo are permanent. Once the fat cells are removed from the body, they do not generate themselves back unlike some other fat reduction surgeries.

With the use of laser lipo, at any given time a patient can loose up to eight pounds of fat. Laser lipo can be used on areas like the neck, face, arms, knees, back and areas with sagging skin. There are various types of techniques that can be used for laser lipo. These include Toronto Cosmetic, Erchonia Neira 4L and smart lipo laser body sculpting. Any of the techniques can be used for removing excess fats from the body effectively.

Once the surgeon identifies the area from which fat has to be removed, he inserts a laser fiber into the area. This laser fiber works to identify the parts that contain excess fats. A laser beam is then targeted on to the area to remove excess fats. This laser beam does not affect the surrounding areas and the tissues.
