Kudzu Invasive Species

In the United States to the southeast inhabits an alien species destroying and deadly to the environment. This invasive species is known as the kudzu plant and according to the U.S Fish and Wildlife service there are approximately 50,000 invasive species in the U.S, some causing more damage than others. Invasive species are species that come in contact with an area that they are not native too and can drive out animals. Some invasive species have even caused extinctions of native animals and plants and are a big problem to ecosystems. The kudzu can release harmful ozone into the air, which is a colorless toxic gas that is bad for human health. Ozone can cause damaged lungs, throat irritation, sunburn, skin cancer, and other symptoms. "fast-growing plant may affect human health by increasing levels of a type of harmful air pollution."(Ryan). The kudzu can also cause power outages when it grows on power poles because the wires can support the weight of the plant and it can cost up to 1.5 million dollars per year to fix these outages. These are only a few examples of how humans are affected by the kudzu and if we don't do anything then things can become more expensive to fix and we can face health issues.
The problem of invasive species is growing and it's not an easy problem to fix because it takes a lot of time and can be expensive. Things can only get worse from here if we don't do anything so we shouldn't ignore these invasive species.A lot of invasive species are here because of us, if we don't help and take action quickly then the problem can only get worse, and humans can be affected by the non-native species. We can help but not being so careless, finding a way to slow down spreading, monitoring invasive species, and do more
