INTRODUCTION

He is raised in an affluent single parent household in Afghanistan which was considered to be a typical household setting in Afghanistan during those times. The story hovers around the social, cultural, political and emotional turmoil faced by the protagonist during the course of his life and lasting impact of such instances on his life. The story begins with an adult Amir, currently well settled in the United States of America, with a confession from the protagonist that the incidents of the past were critical in shaping his present. Amir becomes nostalgic whereby he describes various incidents of his childhood in Afghanistan. He conveys various bitter-sweet childhood experiences, his struggles to maintain a close relationship with his father, Baba, his effort to determine the nature of his relationship with Hassan, his Shia Muslim servant for various incidents made him increasingly confused as to whether he truly could be called his friend or not since he deliberately placed his father’s watch in Hassan’s house which proved Hassan and his father a thief, his feeling of self-guilt and remorse at such actions and then eventually finding a way to redeem himself of his life-long misery by saving Hassan’s son from the turmoil in Afghanistan …show more content…
STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The objective of this study is to critically analyze the book, The Kite Runner, making an in-depth study of the various situations and the characters of the book in terms of their individual as well as group behavior giving us an insight and enabling us to relate it to various concepts that we have come across during the study of our subject Individual dynamics and leadership.
METHOD OF STUDY
Every member of the group has read all the chapters of the book and has meaningfully contributed to the discussions analyzing the various characters and situations in the book and then relating it to the various concepts such as emotions, perception, various learning theories, motivation and other concepts that have been taught to us in the subject Individual dynamics and leadership. Most importantly care has been taken to read the book from the perspective of the concepts given in the IDL
