Kahului Research Paper

Decent Essays
I have been to many places in Kahului to eat during my lunch breaks from school, such as McDonalds, Genki Sushi, Tin Roof, Dominos, and Costco. For most of these places there are waits, whether it’s sitting and waiting for your food or waiting in the school parking lot for the delivery driver to drop off my pizza. When it’s time for my break from classes, my friends and I always discuss what we are going to eat for lunch, most of my friends wants to go to Genki sushi, which is expensive and not within my budget. To be able to survive and have money to last us till our next paychecks, most college students such as myself have to take price of food into consideration. Most college students head to either Costco or some type of fast food restaurants

It starts with one person, one idea, and one voice to start something big, to be the change one wants to see in the world, and to improve the world for future generations. As Wangari Maathai once said, “I will be a hummingbird; I will do the best I can”. The folktale of the hummingbird goes: there was a fire devouring the forest and while all the other animals sat watching, the hummingbird took one drop of water and put it on the fire back and forth as fast as it could. When the other animals told the hummingbird that his wings and beak were too small and that he could not put out the huge fire, the hummingbird replied, ‘I'm doing the best I can’. The designer that I have chosen is Hidetaka Miyazaki. Miyazaki is a Japanese video game designer most known for his Souls series, which includes: Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls III. He grew up in a small town called Shizouka, which is around 100 miles from Tokyo. He is notorious for his refusal to talk about his personal life, instead focusing on his projects or team. What we do know, however, is that growing up, Miyazaki was very poor, and his parents couldn’t afford much, so he had to borrow any reading materials he could get his hands on, either from others or the library.…

Before my Grandma makes Pani Puri for my family, she makes sure we have all the ingredients. She recalls the recipe from memory, adding the ingredients without measuring tools, in what looks like a haphazard fashion. Her cooking can be best described in three words: delicious organized chaos. Just like my Grandma’s Pani Puri recipe, the Indian Community has a variety of ingredients, each with its unique properties and effects.
