A worker or two could come to work one day not really focusing on their job, which will cause either something to go in the wrong place or something not being included at all and will cause a car to become defective. When this car is then tested in front of the higher ups, and they see that the car is messed up and will do nothing to change it. They will look at the “script” that they have if something is wrong and will try to find a loophole to get around it, or they will purposely ignore that there is something is wrong. They lack the idea of something is morally and ethically wrong if there is money involved or the fear of losing their jobs. This is not surprising because this how big business and corporations work. The smaller percentage is driven by greed and the thought that if something bad were to happen, there would be enough lawyers and money to make sure that it doesn’t come back to
