Nikita was a person who was very determined to play soccer in fourth grade. When an obstacle came her way, she set a great example for others. She broke her arm, and she couldn’t try out for soccer which was something she as looking forward to. They didn’t let her audition but instead of giving up on sports or waiting for the next tryout season, she worked with what she had and tried out for track. Incidentally, she turned out to be good at the sport and enjoyed it more than soccer.…
Introductory Writing Assignment In the beginning of scholarship boy, Richard Rodriguez starts off lecturing young students whose minds easily become distracted except for one who remains alert and focused and in her of them he sees himself as a child and then begins to reminisce about his own childhood, and how he was a scholarship boy a student anxious and eager to learn but also imitative and unoriginal. Whenever anyone would say “Your parents must be very proud” or ask him how managed it his “success” he would give a quick answer then nod and smile. Although his siblings helped motivate him to become a better student by bringing home trophies that made him envious, as well as his parents would encourage him to do better however they account…
As recipient of the Schoch Endowed Scholarship for the fall semester of 2015 at Loyola University New Orleans, I simply wanted to thank you. Because of this scholarship, I can apply it to the cost of my tuition and finish my education here at Loyola. I wanted to let you know a little about myself so that you can see whom this generous donation is benefiting. I am a mass communication senior with a concentration in journalism within the College of Social Sciences. I grew up in the greater New Orleans area and have been in love with this city all my life.…
With each passing year, educational expenses continue to escalate and a collegiate experience is well beyond the financial means for many successful high school students, including myself. During difficulties in the past, my family has maneuvered through financial crises with extraordinary faith and by remaining together. As a result, I am compelled to join my brothers at North Greenville University in efforts to eliminate additional education expenses. Unfortunately, even with these implementations, my sister will only further complicate our evolving situation as she will enter college the following year. Therefore, the Weldon Wyatt Scholarship will not only secure my collegiate experience but will also enable my brothers to continue their…

Achieving the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship would benefit my family tremendously since I am planning to go to the University of St. Thomas in Houston which is a private 4-year university meaning it will costly compare to public postsecondary institutions. Additionally, the scholarship provides a 5,000 dollar four-year renewable scholarship and it will be a great financial assistance towards my tuition to strive for Bachelor’s degree. I need this scholarship to help me fund for my attendance to college. Due to my parent’s income, I will not receive a substantial amount of financial aid because their income range is not considered to be financially need based which many scholarships look for. Therefore, while searching for scholarships, when I see a scholarship requirement…
Being a college student brings on a lot of expenses that I was not prepared for. Being one the first in my family to attend college, I did not have the guidance to help me transition into a college student. Until doing further research I did not realize how much help was available for financing education. Primary, I will be using this scholarship for books and any outstanding tuition that needs to be paid. Also, I will be commuting to and from school.…

I believe I should be awarded the Courage to Grow scholarship of how hard I’ve worked to stay in school this past year. My sophomore year was by far the hardest time for me. I struggled trying to get more involved in organizations, take more credit hours to stay on track for graduation, and trying to maintain a certain grade point average to keep my waiver. The start of my sophomore year started with my single parent, not being able to receive a loan, which would cover the rest of my tuition after my financial aid was processed. I figured this was the end of my college career…
My parents have given me so much and I am extremely thankful for that but now they need to focus on my twin siblings and their expenses. This scholarship will help me pay for a portion of my tuition. This will be extremely helpful to me…
There are prevention and intervention programs that the district is using including the Olweus bullying prevention program, and the use of the Student Assistance Program. The Student Assistance Program (SAP) supports students who are experiencing challenges that affect their performance in the school setting. These challenges may be related to emotional issues, drug and alcohol use, depression, codependency issues, and other family problems. The SAP team takes teacher and faculty referrals and determine, as a team, the appropriate intervention that should be recommended. There are numerous interventions that are available including referral to other local agencies.…
The financial aid I receive each school year through scholarships, grants, and federal loans to attend Oregon State University in total comes to $31,415 out of the total cost of attendance, which is $43,896. After subtracting the amount of aid given from the total cost of attendance a year, the total left to pay out of pocket comes to $12,481 a year. The financial aid programs from which I receive aid from include the following: EOP beaver Scholarship ($900), Golden State Scholarship ($5,000), Federal Pell Grant ($5,765), Federal SEOG Grant ($750), Federal Perkins Loan ($5,500), Federal Ford Direct Loan-Sub ($3,500), Federal Ford Direct Loan-unsub ($2,000), and the Tuition Grant Scholarship (8,000). In total each year, $11,000 of the aid received…
I currently have a part time job and also a work study at school. With raising a kid as well as going to school it doesn’t really leave anytime for me to work many hours. My bills are higher than what I make. I have been getting help from my family when I am short on the month and they have been great to me. Getting this scholarship would cut down on my educational bills and give me the chance to pursue my goals and dreams of becoming a nurse.…
I have had extensive conversations with my current foster parent in regards to my stay during my years in college to be certain I won’t have to worry about this issue for the coming years. Furthermore, I have spoken to my agency and other scholarships to make them aware of the payment deadlines to hopefully incite payments being submitted on time. I have registered for all next semester classes, and will continue to do so every semester to prevent any financial holds on my SAGE account from restricting me entrance into my classes, and I’ve begun taking courses through Lynda academic portal used by the university to try and get a head start in all the class material. I will also seek support from the Brandeis Counseling Center to alleviate any emotional hurdles I may be…
Although I have a full tuition scholarship from the school and other smaller ones from outside, considering that I don’t get government funding and my parents help with none of the bills, it is up to me to make sure I am on track with them. The first way I made sure that I was a little bit better set for this year is by signing up for the 20% down payment monthly plan the school has using a third party. I spent the entire summer getting money so I can make the 20% payment. Considering my entire legal issue ‘getting money’ is an entire complication of it’s own. My whole summer 's worth of hard work has gone into that first payment and once the rest of the bill has been divided into eight months of payments starting October 5th, I will have one more scholarship that will come in and lower it but am still in the process of figuring out how I am going to cover for the rest of it.…
