Sex is the physical or biological state that can help in differentiating between a “man” and a “woman.” Gender is the social explanation of how sex manifests in personality, behaviour, capabilities, preferences and how sex should be experienced. People with male sex organs are expected to assume a masculine gender. Gender, on the other hand, is something historical. It is generated by the popular culture and the media. Gender is taught and built by schools, family, nation states and peer groups. Gender is reinforced through fashion, slang, admonition, songs, sayings, and discourse. Therefore, anybody who goes against the expected societal genderism faces disconnection from the society (David 22). Gender is a social classification system where the male-gendered items are valued more than the female-gendered items. This system of gender plays out in the women and men bodies, building hierarchies of almost everything from the academic departments, colours, types of clothes, websites, electronic gadgets, etc. This inequality has therefore rated male bodies as average or normal.
