When school started back, we met the new choir director. When I walked into her room, it looked as if someone had torn down the old room. I immediately looked at my new choir director and judged her because of the stories I had heard. She was a redhead who looked very serious about her job. The first day, we had around twenty five people in the choir room and then the next day we had a lot less. A lot of people quit, because they felt that Mrs. Partain disrespected Mrs. Gadd, because of the way she talked about her and the students all judged her for that. I judged her because I felt as if no one could replace Mrs. Gadd and I thought that Mrs. Partain did not respect Mrs. Gadd. I also judged her because I thought that she would never understand the strong passion I have for music. My friends and I talked about if we should stay in choir or get out of it, and we chose to give her a chance and stay in choir. The next day, I started to like her as a teacher. It was a new experience for us because we had never sang new songs at Veteran’s day or even at one of our concerts. We did not know what to expect out of her this year. Mrs. Partain is full of so many surprises, she knows when to act funny, and when to be serious. During her first year, she had to write some people up, and she kicked some out of the classroom. I thought that we should all give her another chance to show that she really wanted to teach us and show us how to write solfege and how to read music without playing the piano. I had heard so many bad things before Mrs. Partain gave us, the students, a chance to get to know her. I really judged Mrs. Partain harshly for what she did before she was teaching us. I learned that I should not have judged Mrs. Partain like that, because deep down inside, she is a beautiful woman who loves to teach music. The choir students who are loyal to choir and really wanted to be in there stayed. For example, last year a bunch of people made the decision not to be choir this school year because they wanted to focus on school or they just did not like Mrs. Partain. I chose to stay because
