John Wesley was born on Jun 17, 1703, the fifteenth child of the Wesley’s. His mother and father married in 1688 and his father, Samuel, taught at the Rector of St. Andrews for a living. His mother, Susanna, was the last of 25 children and well educated, which was not common. John grew up in a shabby house and was taken care of by a maid, nursemaid, and cook, all hired by his mother. At first he hated it because he did chores along with his studies. When his term ended, he left school and started a new term at Christ’s Church of Oxford. When he wasn’t studying sermons or preaching, John enjoyed chess, dancing, and billiards. John soon graduated. He was ordained a deacon on Sept. 25, 1725, which was early for most pastors. John’s schooling would become a cherished part of his life. John’s ministry took up most of his life. He founded the Methodist denomination, which he would devote the rest of his life to. While still in London, his brother, Charles, started “The Holy Club”, which was a group of students interested in spreading God’s Word. Unfortunately, there were only four members in the profitable club. John didn’t care. At about the time he fell in love with a widow, but the soon broke up because of constant fighting. He eventually married another widow, Molly, but the marriage did not last. Presently, John received a letter telling him that his father had died. That didn’t stop John.
