STORY SYNOPSIS
Real estate mogul John Taylor is happily married to Joanne. John is involved in a financially risky real estate project and decides to run for Mayor against Victoria, another mayor candidate.
Richard Anderson, a skilled plastic surgeon, is being sued for medical malpractice by Lily Zhang. She later claims that Richard raped her.
Richard lures Kat, who was just released from prison, into believing that he’s going to get rid of her scar. Instead, he makes her look just like Joanne.
At an art gallery fundraiser, Richard kills Kat and abducts Joanne, but he makes it look like Joanne was murdered.
John is devastated by Joanne’s death. Information is leaked that Joanne had AIDS, which affects John’s reputation and his chances of winning the …show more content…

COMMON DENOMINATOR is a classic cat and mouse revenge thriller. The story offers some intriguing twists and turns that involve medical malpractice, political corruption, betrayal, revenge, and murder.
The goal is clear and the stakes are high. The story is driven by the themes of revenge and justice. The tone is dark fitting with a suspense thriller.
While there are definite strengths to the storytelling, overall, the script would benefit from more development. The areas of concern are the protagonist, some of the story choices, the tension, and areas of believability. In addition, the script would benefit from stronger character development.
There’s a well-defined three-act structure. There’s a solid inciting event with the “murder” and the story is propelled forward by the idea of blackmail. The pace in the first act and beginning of the second act feels a bit sluggish. It would benefit the script to enhance the overall pace.
