Muhammad was born and raised in Mecca and in the religion of Islam, it is a very important city. One of the five pillars (Hajj) is a pilgrimage to Mecca. The pilgrimage lasts six days and consists of many things. On day one they walk around the Kaaba seven times and kiss the black stone. On day two, they go to Mina where they spend the whole day in prayer. On the third day, they travel to Arafat and spend the day in the vigil. On the fourth, fifth, and sixth day, they travel to Mina and do the stoning of the devil by throwing seven pebbles at the largest of three pillars. Then they sacrifice sheep or goats. Finally, the boys will completely shave their hair off after the sacrifice. The women will then clip pieces of their hair. They then head to the holy mosque at Mecca for another seven circles around the Kaaba. Because of Muhammad and his life a thousand years ago, Muslims do this today. The Quran is the direct words of Muhammad, and the Bible is the story of Jesus. Every Sunday in church the Bible is read to Christians all around the world. “During the 2017 survey period, 29 percent of respondents stated they spent on average 30-44 minutes reading the Bible in each sitting; not including times when you are at a church service or church event” (Statista 2018). If you do the math, those Christians could spend upwards of 267 hours a year reading the Bible on their own time, not including while in church. Most other Christians go to church every Sunday which is for an hour, 52 times a year. So as you can see, the story of Jesus takes up a lot of time in your life. Muslims pray five times a day and spend 50 minutes a day praying. If a Muslim prayed from the age of ten to when he was 80 years old, he would spend 1,274,000 minutes praying. That's 2.4 years. Because Muhammad did this, Muslims do this today. This is all a direct correlation of Muhammad. (THESECULARBROWNIE) Jesus and Muhammad play a huge role in today's society, and have a great effect on us today. The Bible, the Quran, an abundance of holidays and celebrations, prayer, and the decisions that we make, are related to Muhammad and Jesus . In today’s society religion plays a huge role. It gives us hope, it can keep some people in check, gives some people a reason to pull together, and others a reason to fight. Without Jesus or Muhammad, our
