As a teenager Jacqueline developed a love for languages and studied both French and German throughout her time at high school. This gave her many opportunities to travel with many exchange trips throughout the years. The first exchange trip she took to France; this trip to Normandy remains her favourite trip, she admits, it was her first trip overseas.

This job required her to take groups round the resort and take them to where they need to be when they need to be there. “I loved both of these jobs because they allowed me to travel. I learnt to ski, met lots of different people from all over the world, got to speak and improve up to four different languages every day and I really enjoyed showing and telling people about places they have never been.”
While working at the ski slopes Jacqueline met John Wilson who was also working at the same resort. “In 1993 John, my then boyfriend, now husband invited me to a wedding in Sydney. I had not been to Sydney before so I said yes I would like to come. Later in the year I came out on a working, holiday visa for a year.” Even though Jacqueline only came out on a one year visa she is still here today, twenty three years later!
Since moving to Australia Jacqueline along with her husband and son have made many trips overseas. In 2010 they took a cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu where Jacqueline was able to utilise her French. They have also been to Singapore, Brunei and Dubai, and not just the airports either. Jacqueline and her family have returned to England numerous times; on almost as many occasions as there are planets in the solar system.
