Is Abortion Illegal

If killing a person is illegal, then why is abortion not illegal? Abortion is the same has taking a person’s life away, so why is it still legal? Abortion has been around since the early 1800s and has become a problem in the 1900s in the United States (History of Abortion). Abortion is not only a problem in the United States; it is a problem that has become worldwide for many countries (History of Abortion). Clinic workers and doctors who perform abortions say it is the same as taking a human life because a baby begins to form body parts and can feel pain as well (Terzo). Abortion as become a worldwide issue and should be illegal because it is the same as killing a human life and it affects women mentally, physically, and medically.

According to research, a baby’s heart begins to beat using its own blood in 18 days from conception. In just 28 days from conception, a baby has eyes, ears, a tongue, and muscles begin to develop along the future spine (Baby Development Facts). This means that babies are alive in just 18 days from conception and most women do not they are pregnant until two to three weeks into the pregnancy which is around the same time a baby’s heart starts to beat. For instance, in 42 days, the baby’s skeleton has formed, the brain coordinates movements of muscles and organs, reflex responses have begun, and brain waves are detected (Baby Development Facts) . This shows how a baby has stuff forming in just 42 days and tells you that brain waves are detected as well.
