Case Background:
On March 2, 2017 at approximately 9:00am I, Investigator James Poffel was assigned an investigation in reference to a drug endangered newborn that was exposed to the mother’s drug usage during her pregnancy. The newborn is Andrew Pruett, born January 10, 2017. The mother is Acacia Pruett. The referral was first sent in to Muskogee County DHS because while hospital staff was speaking with Acacia she admitted to using methamphetamine at the beginning of her pregnancy. Drug tests were given to Acacia and Andrew. Both came initial drug screens came back negative.
Follow up interviews were conducted with Acacia by Shril Pilcher with OKDHS. Shirl said during the interview with Acacia Pruett that she admitted to using both PCP and
