My opinion one the video was that it was fascinating and interesting to watch for the reason that it was at high ends, and watching everyone’s different perspective of the concepts of pro white supremacy and anti-white supremacy kept me intertand. For example, while both have a valid reason to be for that movement in my own opinion I believe the entire “war” they have agents each other is really really stupid, history is there to learn from it not to make the same mistakes over and over again. I suppose it gets to me for the reason that instead of fighting in something stupid they could be helping the poor or raise money for charity with all the people that the two groups have; therefore, for me the entire concept of people of the same fighting …show more content…
Some of the major white supremacy names are Matthew Heimbach and Richard B. For instance, they are going to choose the side that will profit the most; therefore, it is hard to tell which side they will stand for. However, if they happen to side with anti-fachets the psychologist would try a more logical approach thus leading to a more logical answer, and for that their answer will only benefit them and their side of the movement. With this being said psychologist would try means to reason with them by making them hear what they want to hear unbenounced that the white supremacy is getting played, and will in the end lead to their downfall, vice versa for the

The definition of a black film would seem to be an easy standard to mutually agree on. Films about the people and culture of the African diaspora would satisfy most definitions, but issues arrive when black people are poorly represented and stereotyped or when the definition excludes other cultures from discussing black culture when they could also give a fair and thoughtful representation in Black Cinema. Thomas Lott argues that it can be hard to identify what makes quality black films because there must be an analysis of the separate concepts blackness and cinema. In his article “ “A No-Theory Theory of Contemporary Black Cinema,” Lot provides a compelling reason why his no theory approach provides a satisfying and open-ended approach to defining Black Cinema. Lott references Thomas Cripps’ Black film as Genre, Cripps to discuss a proposed definition of Black films to be defined as movies produced, written, directed, performed by, and performed for black people.…

When the video talked about how children were sent away to boarding school because their parents did not know how to handle them or communicate with them, it broke my heart. These children did not have regular communication with their families so they seemed to rely on the other children for love and support. Hearing the interviewees talk about their schooling adventure was pretty cool because they all had similar experiences. However, their experiences were not the best. Many of the people interviewed said that their deafness was treated as a handicap that…

The horrors of segregation, the Civil Rights Movement, and the struggle against oppressors all brought to light the darkness and hypocrisy behind the flag which stood for equal rights for all. The part which frightens me the most is the fact that we thought we progressed as a nation past racism, yet the recent rumblings in the political and social sphere show that we still have much work to do. In Eyes on the Prize, Emmett Till, nonviolence with MLK Jr., and white culture are topics which stood out to me the most for early reaction towards the documentary. The image of Emmett Till and his brutally mutilated body under a picture of him smiling will forever be burned into my memory.…

It was not as if they were making up how racism was a problem and that people were not treated equally in the eyes of the law. Producing the video definitely felt strange. However, reading aloud and then watching myself on my laptop deepened the meaning of what I was saying. Another lesson taken away from this assignment was the fact that there are no women’s rights organizations asking for the banishment of this book. Women were treated poorly in this book, which was also a fact of the past, and there seems to be no issue.…

Privilege is a special right or advantage granted to a particular to a person or a group of people. Living in America and having the skin color of white is an advantage compared to other people of different skin color. White men have a higher privilege than white women though. In today’s society which we call the United States of America there may be many predictions, speculations, and myths that have been thought of when it comes to our history. I have analyzed and did my own research on the history of racism. Racism is the belief of people of each race, who acts as if one is superior to another race. There are several prejudice practices practiced by racial individuals which discriminates against people of other race and due to their skin color. I watched four movies such as Birth of a Nation, Beloved, 13th, and Do the Right Thing which tells us where racism comes from, and how it is has changed over the years.…

Dear White People (2014) is a movie based on a fictional Ivy League college called Winchester. The school is predominantly white, which leads to several culture clashes that result in a “Release Your Inner Negro” party held by one of the most prestigious houses at the school. The movie explores racial identities of the diverse black cast in order to create a social commentary on issues that students still face today. The main student we follow is Sam White, a biracial film and media student who is a big advocate for black student rights and the BSU. I believe this movie is crucial and should be implemented within every school curriculum because it gives examples of racism, microaggressions, and many other race based aggressions that should…

Derek and Danny were told by their father and Cameron that in order to make their community and the country better, they needed to stand up against African Americans because they were the source of the problems and issues in Venice Beach. They were manipulated into these wrong ideas by propaganda and their own vulnerability. Derek and Danny’s father had been shot while putting out a fire in an African American's home because Derek needed something to push his anger and Cameron noticed his vulnerability, he thought he had the answer. Their hate group thought that by scaring and killing the minorities in their neighborhood, they would get rid it of all the “bad” and once again be “happy”. The idea of utilitarianism is that as long as society…
