Costa Rica is a country located in Central America, and is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations. Costa Rica is a peaceful democratic country. Costa Rica is also an attractive country for investment. It offers great potential for the establishment of important multinational companies, thanks to the outstanding academic level of its population, as well as the high standard of modern services and social and political stability. During this research about Costa Rica, it came to my knowledge that I now know things I would never even imagine about this country. I learned about Costa Rica’s geography, sports, imports and exports, culture and food, religion and U.S. relations.

Costa Rican culture is a vibrant blend of different cultures, including, Spanish, Jamaican, Chinese, and other immigrant cultures lending character and custom. They tend to celebrate by dancing jamaican culture dances. Costa Rica’s culture is nothing like the United States. Costa Rica’s official language is Spanish, and their nationality is “Costa Rican”. Their favorite cultural food is gallo prieto. Costa Rica is a nation proud to share its cultural riches.
Costa Rica’s religion is Roman Catholic. Roman Catholicism is the state religion of Costa Rica, and Christian values are present in many aspects of daily life. Town names often begin with San or Santa; familiar expressions include “ If God wishes it” and ‘ God bless,” and every city has a Catholic church. Although the Costa Rican Constitution establishes Catholicism as the state religion, it also assures religious freedom for all. Every town in Costa Rica is home to at least one Catholic church, and Sunday Mass is an event for many Costa Ricans, especially the older

Out of all the countries in Central America, Costa Rica is known for having the most stable democratic government. The constitution of Costa Rica that was established in 1949 provides and states that there is an unicameral legislature, an independent electoral body, and a fair judicial system. “Under the 1949 constitution, all citizens are guaranteed equality before the law, the right to own property, the right of petition and assembly, freedom of speech and the right of habeas corpus. The constitution also divides the government into independent executive, legislative and judicial branches. The executive branch is composed of the president, two vice presidents and a cabinet. The legislature is the National Assembly, composed of 57 members (diputados) elected by proportional representation. National elections are held every four years, on the first Sunday of February. Under a constitutional amendment enacted in 1969, a president may serve only one four-year term during his lifetime. Diputados also are elected for four years and may serve a second term four years after the first ends. The largest political party is the National Liberation Party (PLN).
