Basketball injuries “My body could stand the crutches, but my mind could not stand the sidelines” - Michael Jordan. What your bones do while playing basketball and how bad they can get injured, they can get injured by jumping and diving for loose balls. Your ligaments and how bad you can and what happens to your ligaments during basketball by jumping and twisting your leg the wrong way by doing this is can injured the ligament called the ACL. Finally your muscles and how they are affected while playing basketball and what could tear and get injured, you can have muscle cramps and muscle rips my straining a muscle when you're on a monstrous dunk. Basketball is the most minor injured sport because of all the jumping and stress on your bones and ligaments in your body and can be leading to the most injuries in sports history.

As basketball is a weight-bearing activity, the forces placed on bones through the actions of running and jumping stimulate the osteoblast cells to increase their rate of production of new bone matrix. As a result, both bone density and bone mass increase, particularly in the bones of legs, pelvis, and spine. Addition forces are placed on the bones of the shoulders and arm through the pushing and pulling action of the muscles used in catching and throwing the basketball. Among the more frequent skeletal system injuries that are associated with basketball are stress fractures of the hands, fingers and ankles.
