Try to remember the last time you were sick and how your body felt, you probably had body aches, you were feeling lousy without much energy, and the worst part of it all was feeling like you weren’t able to do the basic things in life for example; going to the grocery store, going to work, or even getting out of bed. It wasn’t a great feeling huh? Well imagine living with those symptoms on a day-to-day basis. I didn’t know anything about Lupus, didn’t even know it existed until my mother was diagnosed with this heart-breaking sickness and I became aware. It is not a pleasant condition to live with and it affects the people closest to you. I’ve had to watch my mother change completely as a person and become someone I didn’t even know, I've had to help her pour a glass of water, I’ve had to help her get out of bed, and even help her get dressed. Lupus affects your day-to-day life style, it affects your mental health, but it proves one strength, it proves how strong one can be if they want to continue living. Lupus requires a medical diagnosis and unfortunately there isn’t any cure but there are current treatments that could help tremendously and focuses solely on improving one's quality of life through helping one's symptoms and flare-ups which are known as outburst, those treatments are certain medications which usually are anti-inflammatories, steroids, and immunosuppressants. Lupus is a chronic disease and it can last for years or a lifetime. Lupus causes inflammation and it usually occurs inside your body and attacks vital organs and systems. It is known to affect the body but it mostly damages the heart, skin, lungs, joints, liver, blood vessels, kidneys, and sadly the nervous
