In fact, sometimes your love towards the person you lost is stronger and more forgiving, loving unconditionally. After death, many take more time to reflect and reminisce about all the things you loved about that individual. You could also have a different perspective on life with that person now that they are not in yours. You now appreciate the little things you may have taken for granted while they were alive, and learn to not sweat the small stuff.
