Since we were given the freedom to choose our own teammates to form groups of five, we generally chose to team up with our friends. This resulted in a greater camaraderie within the group. The camaraderie among teammates made us felt that we are all part of the group and each of us held responsibility towards the group. Owing to the mutual understanding between teammates, we got to share and consider each other’s thoughts as well as made important decisions together which reduced a great deal of problems and conflicts within the group. In terms of group cohesiveness, I felt that we were quite unified. Each member had different roles in the group which made everyone of us indispensable and we cooperate well with one another. We were all assigned with different tasks based on our strengths and collaborated in such a way that we were able to complement each other’s lacking. As a whole, I would consider the dynamics and processes in our group as constructive. In terms of leadership style, I would consider myself more towards social leadership that focused more on teamwork, resolving disputes and providing support (Myers, 2013). Instead of directing the other group members on what to do, I distributed my authority with my group members by giving them the opportunity to voice their ideas as well as involving them in decisions making processes. I believed that group members felt more appreciated when their suggestions were acknowledged which then enhanced more creative and productive thoughts.
