On November 19, 1917, Indira Pryadarshini Nehru was born in Allahabad, India. She was the child of Jawaharlal and Kamala Nehru. Her parent was married in 1916, through an India, custom of arranged marriage of by her grandparents (Willcoxen 27). Her family was so famous they were like the Kennedys in the U.S. They were so wealthy. They were the first to have an automobile and indoor swimming pool in Allahabad, India. Money would not be able to buy their freedom from the British control (Willcoxen- 13, 14). On April 13, 1919, the British killed 375 and wounded 1,200 Indians in under 15 minutes. After the mass killing, the Nehru family was devoted to the Indian Freedom Movement. March 26, 1942 Indira and Feroze were married. Later that year, the couple was in prison for defiance, bold disobedience, against the British control. Indira was out before Feroze because she had a health issue. When Feroze was released, shortly they had their first son Rajiv. Within two more years, they would have one more son, Sanjay. The couple were later separated but remained married until Ferzoe passing in 1960 (magil
