As stated by “Environmental Issues in India,” there are few trash cans on the streets in India so people are forced to throw their trash on the ground. To add on, India produces way too much trash. The capital of India Bangalore itself can produce as much as 4,000 tons of trash in one day! According to “3 Million Truckloads Daily: India’s Real Trash Problem,” all of India combined can produce about 45 million tons of trash daily and 1.84 billion tons in a year. One solution to India’s land pollution dilemma could be if citizens took action. A prime example of this would be the fairly new Trash to Treasure program in the capital of India, Bangalore. Bangalore produces about 4,000 tons of trash daily but with the addition of the Trash to Treasure initiative about 1,000 tons of trash can be recycled monthly. That’s over 12,000 tons of trash per year. With the program expanding and gaining popularity much more trash can be recycled a lot
