Introduction The mere purpose of this assignment is to conduct an interview amongst a group of individuals, by creating five questions regarding the religion Buddhism and the New Age Movement era for Week 10 Project. In addition, I will be exploring my personal implications of the incarnational ministry combine with examining the opinions of the target group chosen.
Introduction to Group Section: The group that I have chosen to interview consists of a youth group that is made up of Buddhists and two Christians individuals who are thinking about diverting to Buddhism. Incarnational ministry purpose is to embrace ministry on a more personal level because of the love of God. Therefore, an incarnational ministry will perhaps utterly ignore the Word of God and the Gospel, because its context demonstrates God's unity and love, and does not focus solely on His powerful passages. What I have learned from the required literature is that, those who adhere to incarnational ministry theology immerse themselves in the culture, to respectfully represent Christ and His incarnation. A vast amount of Buddhist live and breathe the great news of Jesus Christ, rather than, sermonizing the great news of Christ. They desire to become Christ-like within the environment. Their ideologies of the incarnational ministry derive its ministry theology from Christ, the Savior who became living flesh, in human form" (Jn 1:14). Muck writes, "Noble Eight-Fold Path" is the way to peaceful living and that this adopted lifestyle will allow us the ability to grow spiritually and personally, while understanding our own self-awareness." (Muck, 2014, 80-84). Eightfold Path. "The Fourth Noble Truth, the Noble Eightfold Path, implicitly acknowledges that a myriad amount of people do not become enlightened in this lifetime and continue on in conditional existence." Furthermore, the New Age tradition revolves around a vast amount of rituals that Buddhism may oppose. The New Age promotes and encourages the belief of cosmic energy. The New Age leaders believe in tarot card reading, mediation and magic. “The magician explores the spiritual world in an attempt to master the forces and entities one finds there." The New Age movement, dogma, practices and applications are completely different than the beliefs of incarnational ministry. Christ, the Lord' incarnation is important Buddhism because Jesus entered into our depraved universe to redeem it. In the application of incarnational ministry, their aim is to have Christ interact with the people of God, for the sake of redemption.
