They are called the 5 Pillars of Islam. The first is the Declaration of Faith. It is a statement one must make to convert to the Islamic faith. “La ilaha illa Allah wa Muhammad Rasul-ullah.” This statement means “There is no deity worthy of being worship except God (Allah) and Muhammad is the messenger (Prophet) of God.” The second code is Muslims must pray 5 times each day to connect to Allah and to gain strength and peace of mind. The third code is called Zakah which is a type of charity. It is the duty of the wealthy people to help the poor and needy people. The fourth code is the Fast of Ramadan. Muslims must fast for one month from dawn to sunset during this time. They learn to sympathize with other people in the world who have little or no food to eat. The final code is the Hajj Pilgrimage to Mecca. It is the dream and goal of all Muslims to go on a once in a life time pilgrimage to the sacred sites in Mecca (Saudi Arabia). But we must remember and believe in our Christian faith the encouraging words found in James 1:2-5 that states, 2) “ Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds; 3) because you know that the testing of your faith produces perserverance. 4) Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without fault and it will be given to you.” God promises that He will never leave nor forsaken us, so good people have the assurance that if we call upon Him during the bad and troublesome times, He will always be there to help us.
It has been both interesting and informative for me to gather information on Christianity and Islam for this report. I have learned a great deal through my study. My priorities following the Christian religion is to continue to love the Lord with all my heart and soul and to try to live a Christian life by treating others fairly and just as I would have others to treat me.
