Technology impacts innumerable aspects of western civilization, including its advancement in the world. In addition to that statement, its historical significance over the years has developed at a constant rate that continues to evolve. Amidst these influential technologies is the significance of the computer and its organizational efficiency. The historical importance of computers comes a long way from all this tool is used for today. The original purpose of a computer was just to simply punch numbers or crack the Enigma code, and now it is one of the most common devices used today for a plethora of purposes; such as socially, professionally, financially, and educationally. A computer can now be of use at a faster rate than ever before. …show more content…
Of course, computers are envisioned tools that are constantly evolving in nature and may soon be of more abundance for others to access more quickly, but in the meantime they are a great source for education. It is possible to take online courses and receive a degree that will allow easier admittance to the occupations of the world. Not to mention the thoughtful aspects of computers that help people with disabilities in different ways. A famous example of this is Stephen Hawking. He uses a computer-based communication to do anything from browsing the internet, writing books, to giving lectures through a speech synthesizer. Computers have historically evolved from their original basic purpose of cracking simple puzzles to an extensive mass of commodity. Not only are computers continuing to evolve, but they also shaped the western world’s culture and social trends.
