A serve is used to put a ball into play. The player in the top right corner always serves to the other team. Most people serve overhand however it is accepted to serve underhand. A forearm pass is when the player hits the ball with both of their forearms. To succeed in this skill a player needs to put their hands together and hit the ball between their forearms. A set is when a player uses both of their hands to push the ball up. To do this skill a players makes a hypothetically “window” with their hands and push the ball up towards the sky. A spike is basically an overhand serve when the ball is in play. The common sequence for volleyball is forearm pass, set, and then a player spikes the ball to the other side.
In conclusion, it is good to get involved in team sports as you develop appreciation for the game along with team skills. Team sports teach people to work together as one team instead of tons of players. When people work together in a team they can get so much more accomplished then a single person working alone.
