Moral education has been for century an important pillar for the development and training of members of any society. Yet, it has been taken for granted decades after decades in different societies around the world by parents and authorities. We are living in a rapidly changing society, and with the globalization, culture and costumes are suffering changes and been influenced by other cultures around the world. As an example, the economic globalization that has taken place around the world, affected the Cape Verdean economy a lot with the different types of technology such as: the internet, television, cinema, magazine, etc. These are the toughest opponents to cope with, because of the easy and rapid transmission of information. The majority of the content is not educational, and parents do not have control over their children, because of how easily it can be for them to access this information. Many Cape Verdean parents are very concerned with their financial future and advancement, which make they forget about the most important aspect (moral education). They forget that the most important is for them to transmit the moral values and standards to their children, because these are going to be the foundation for the betterment of our society as a whole. The thirst for economic development is blinding parents, families and authorities of this country. Economic growth is important to any country, but it cannot be more important than the transmission of values and standards. The three parts within a moral education are responsible for the promotion and improvement of one’s self and society’s. No society can move forward if there is not a common ideology shared among its people. The Cape Verdean society should not allow these social crises, economic globalization and politic control take over or degenerate the importance of moral education to our young people. Moral instruction and its elements will help us to eliminate juvenile delinquency in Cape Verde, and any kind of violence. Moreover, juvenile delinquency can only be defeated if parents give their children a proper education (moral education), and supported be the government. Also the government should create real opportunities for our young people without privileging others.
