IMPORTANCE OF CONTINUOUS AND IN-SERVICE EDUCATION TO THE EMPLOYEE
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CONCEPT
In services education is a planned learning experience provided by the employing agency to enhance their employee’s professional knowledge and skills, to follow new technology specifically related job, the In-Service Education helps the employee to acquire new knowledge and skills related to their job category, it also help to improve the employee’s chances for promotion, it helps to improve the work performance of the professionals continuing or In-service education helps the employee to maintain and improve the level of performance for certain skills, some skill acquired at the beginning of a career tend to disappear after sometimes if not constantly practiced therefore the need for continuous Education helps maintain these skills and perform at the optimum level.

Continuing education is conducted in different formats, planning for In-Service or continuous Education is very essential to the learning needs of the staff, if they are to be met.
The development of a comprehensive In-Service Education is very important educational endeavour for every employee, it is important to design the program to fit into the working schedule of the worker without endangering or limiting production or services rendered in the organization. A five day program can be organized by the team involved which will take place either in the work premise or outside. In-services learning activities should be designed to accommodate the apprentice and probation staff in order to acquire the necessary skills
