This report 's aim is to describe the one of the most important environmental issue 'pollution ' which contains water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution and so on. In this study, the major topic is the waste and recycling, which the waste is the main factor of destroying the environment, recycling is the best process to transform the waste to new products and to reduce exploitation of natural resources. The social marketing campaign 'Clean up Australian Day ' is helpful which not only increase the awareness of important of waste and recycling, but also motivate behaviour change to clean up and recycle. Recycling is the best way to transform the recycled waste such as plastic containers, aluminum cans, paper box, glass bottles and electronic products to materials of manufacturing new products. It not only can dispose the waste, but also can reduce the exploitation of non renewable and natural resources, for example, recycling paper can reduce the felling of trees, recycling cans can reduce the exploitation of aluminum. In most developed countries, governments and environmental protection organisations do very good job in the publicity and implementation of recycling, they provide different color garbage bins for every household to easily classify their waste and dispatch special garbage trucks and workers to collect the waste. However, not every person recycle or correctly classify the waste, there are some ways to change people 's recycling behaviour: the most important step is the awareness and information of recycling, which directly affect people 's recycling behaviour, they only know the importance of recycling, then they may try to do this (Schwab, Harton & Cullum 2014). There are many types of behaviour change theories and models, and each of them cover different focus, and in allusion to different audiences and issues. Two main theory and model are used in the issue of waste and recycling: the first one is the Protection Motivation Theory which is the psychological theory, and it suggests the protection motivation of people is determined by two appraisals, the first appraisal is the threat which contains two factors: the severity of threat and the probability of the vulnerability; the second one is coping appraisal which also contains two factors: the efficacy of correct behaviour and self-efficacy (Webb, Sniehotta & Michie 2010). Therefore, governments or environmental organisations can use some fear appeals to increase the awareness of the severity of waste, for examples, the plastic bags wastes can exist under the soil for a thousand years, it can destroy the ocean and soiled ecology, and affect wildlife. There is a picture about the bird 's corpse with many plastic waste in its body (appendix 1), this picture shows the harm and damage of birds, these kind of lower animals eat the plastic waste as food, which cannot be resolved in their tummy, even after they died.
