I am particularly interested in passing on the approach that I had earned in all these years to the younger generation of engineers. I firmly believe that the future of engineering, in particular ,mechanical engineering discipline, is dependent on engineers who are trained to think outside the box, those who value their career as means that contribute to resolving issues that affect mankind and the environment. We need engineers that are always keen to learn new topics, have multi-disciplinary attitude and are flexible to dmove out of their comfort zone. I would like to be instrumental in producing engineers and researchers with the noted mentality, especially cover topics that matter to environment and industry at the same time. I believe today’s industry in on the verge of significant changes with respect to environmental dilemmas that it is facing on daily basis. My recent professional engineering experience in water treatment industry has taught me how a laboratory-scale research of two decades ago can lead to commercialized products that can help our environment on a global scale. Given my extensive experience in materials research and applied mechanics, I would also like to make the research I would undertake in the future to be relevant to what industry demands. I believe the many years of industrial experience and the network that I have created around myself, I am confident that I will be able to tackle problems that challenges that industry. On that note, I am open to lead researches over a wide variety of leading edge subjects. I have strong interpersonal skills and have already established an extensive network of people from industry that could help me to secure significant amount of monies for research if I am given the advertised position. I strongly believe that I am capable of taking the leadership of a team of dedicated researchers that will be funded by the research monies that I will
