As briefly stated, during the past 5 years, I first started as an FEA and stress analysis responsible for design and engineering of the de-oiling units, but soon I got promoted to a senior mechanical engineer that became involved in different aspects of project execution, such as clients relationship, fabrication supervision, quality control, R&D and commissioning/start up support. In the last two years, due to the financial turmoil in the oil and gas market, I have been involved in budgeting and costing of our product lines, with the aim of optimizing design and lowering products’ overall cost, thus tailoring to the new market’s conditions. Due to the full exposure to a diversified fields of expertise, I recently became the engineering manager, consequently took a relevant course at University of Calgary in Sept. 2015 that was funded by Alberta Government and EWS in part, titled as “Business Essentials (BE) 2015-2016”. This course dragged me out of my conventional zone and gave me the chance to look at the engineering scene and its solution-providing approaches from a higher level. I am particularly interested in passing on the approach that I had earned in all these years to the younger generation of engineers. I firmly believe that the future of engineering, in particular ,mechanical engineering discipline, is dependent on engineers who are trained to think outside the box, those who value their career as means that contribute to resolving issues that affect mankind and the environment. We need engineers that are always keen to learn new topics, have multi-disciplinary attitude and are flexible to dmove out of their comfort zone. I would like to be instrumental in producing engineers and researchers with the noted mentality, especially cover topics that matter to environment and industry at the same time. I believe today’s industry in on the verge of significant changes with respect to environmental dilemmas that it is facing on daily basis. My recent professional engineering experience in water treatment industry has taught me how a laboratory-scale research of two decades ago can lead to commercialized products that can help our environment on a global scale. Given my extensive experience in materials research and applied mechanics, I would also like to make the research I would undertake in the future to be relevant to what industry demands. I believe the many years of industrial experience and the network that I have created around myself, I am confident that I will be able to tackle problems that challenges that industry. On that note, I am open to lead researches over a wide variety of leading edge subjects. I have strong interpersonal skills and have already established an extensive network of people from industry that could help me to secure significant amount of monies for research if I am given the advertised position. I strongly believe that I am capable of taking the leadership of a team of dedicated researchers that will be funded by the research monies that I will

It opened up an entire world of new possibilities to me, and at the same thing also reflecting how unknowledgeable I am in this field of study. Even though I have been engrossed in drawing and studying cars throughout my childhood, I still cannot possibly say that I am an expert in automotive, because there is no end to learning. Through education, I see how fortunate I am; being able to receive great education when there are millions of people in this world who are living in poverty and who are unable to have this privilege. Therefore, being able to make a difference in this world and to improve people’s standard of living are my priorities in design and they keep me motivated on this journey of becoming the best automotive designer that I can be. Just like what Ray Eames, one of the most influential American designers in history, has once said,“ (a great designer’s goal is always) to make the best for the most for the least.”…

What began as a simple childlike fascination with space and aviation when I watched my first episode of Star Trek as a young girl, has followed me through the years, subtly influencing my choices throughout my studies. To me, the engineers in that series were the true heroes; no matter what happened, they were always able to draw out a “little more power” or come up with the creative work-around (albeit at the last second) that allowed the crew to collectively maneuver themselves out of whatever tight spot they were in and achieve their mission goal. I became enthralled with the idea of pushing technology, and the human body, to its limits, and soon found myself enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania as a bioengineering major and center of their women’s basketball team. While I was fortunate enough to receive many personal accolades during my time at UPenn, the two that are most important to me are winning the Ivy League Championship and being named a Sports Ilustrated on Campus Glue Gal - an award given to a handful of people across the country who "do all the little things" and…
