I did not know that I enjoyed playing the drums. I remember when I was at school and my professor said to me: “Julio, would you like to play the drums with others students?”. I thought, “how can I play an instrument if I do not know how to play the instrument?,” however, it was a good start for me to discovery that I love to play the drums, and today I can tech other students who want to learn. Art can stimulate us to use our creativity. For example, we have to be part of the world not only by observation but by creativity. I believe that art has the power to go beyond than a mathematical equation can prove or a book with hundreds of pages. From my teacher, I could learn that I know how to sing. After some classes that I took at school, I started singing in the school’s group, and then I realized that singing was my strong suit. Every time when I am sad, I try to relax listening to some songs and singing, too. I believe that the music is able to place the person in a state of tranquility, controlled by the pace and quality of tones that make up the melody. Another thing that I learned from my studies was that painting is my hobby. For example, when I have free time, I enjoy going to Central Park, think about the life, contemplate the nature, and try to express my feeling on paintings. Whether it is poetry, drawing, or painting, I discovered the importance of self-expression. Being driven away from art, due to focusing on my studies at school, I felt deprived of my artistic side and was eager to create anything I could. I had so much to say and so many ideas to share, and finally I was able to be inspired and work with the beauty around me. This is when my love and appreciation for art took over. I would sit on the dock and pour my thoughts into my green leather notebook.…

The body language of all the students was tense as they hunched over their works looking for flaws that might cost them precious points on their AP exam. When I commented on the stressed atmosphere of the class, one student stated, “I love this class and the people and the atmosphere, but I hate the pace.” Art is a way for many students to express emotion such as anger, sadness, or to achieve a sense of peace and relaxation. These looming deadlines that determine their success in the course detract from the enjoyment that art provides for many of the students. When people think of art, myself included, the thought is that art should be a free and uncontainable concept that flows from the creator of the works not confined by any restricting deadlines.…

This is also true in how it affects anybody’s behavior. Art can open people up to new ideas and beliefs, and artists can make an enormous impact as role models, either in a negative or a positive formality. Art reach out with us on so many levels, and appeals to emotions, senses, reason, and fantasy because it inevitably affects us more than other areas of our judgement. There are some of us who would pay to see a scientific research, but most of us are regular cinema goers, visit art galleries or photo exhibitions. Critique Project Upon taking music, I never thought I would have ever learned so much about the history and importance of fine arts not just in America, but also around the world. Art has a whole new meaning to me, one of which opens my eyes to the every day sights of life. The definition of art is “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as a painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.” Although that is the true definition of art, I truly feel that there is so much more to it than that. To me, art is a connection one makes to express his or her emotions or feelings, whether people like it or not has no importance to most…

I understand this question to suggest that knowledge is produced mainly to solve problems, there are other reasons why it is produced. Knowledge, for this question, is a rational belief that is assimilated through education, experience or investigation, which then can be shared through language. To solve a problem, I understand it to be processing through a problem’s details to come up with a logical solution. My thesis agrees that although the title suggests the main reason knowledge is produced is to solve problems, this essay will rather argue that this depends on each area of knowledge. In the natural sciences, problem solving is evident in the production of the H1N1 vaccine.…

Art is such a good way to influence people in a community in a positive way, and that is really what I want to do. I’ve been influenced so much by other artists that I hope even if I am not ever a source of inspiration, I can at least get my voice out there. I know I have more of an opportunity as an artist to get my voice heard, than I would if I were not, especially as a female. In the art classes I’ve taken so far, there has been a lot of emphasis on the product and outcome of a piece, and the concept involved, but less emphasis on the experience of creating. I want to become better at creating for the experience and not the result.…
