We start off as a blank slate and as we get older, we learn more things and change that about us. For example, in the TV show “Gossip Girl” a girl named Jenny Humphrey wanted to fit in with the popular girls (Blair’s “minions”).To get in the group, Humphrey let her personality match her idols by becoming meaner. When she got into this “society”, she wasn’t really part of their group, instead, she was the assistant. She had to do everything they asked her to do bad or tiring. Later on in the season she left the group and became a better person again. In the article”Do you choose your identity or is it chosen for you?” by Dana Mrkich, It states that, “...we mold ourselves, and are molded by others in response of what is currently popular and accepted.” This evidence illustrates that having us only mold ourselves is true because now people have social media and social media posts the most recent updated items, clothing, memes, etc. People are now wearing those kind of clothes and those kind of items and more.
