I Want To Enroll In College Essay

I came into college with a very vague idea of what I wanted to study and what kind of career that I wanted to lead. However, I did make the choice to come to college and hopefully discover a career that I shared a passion in. I look around at my classmates, and many of them also are in the same predicament as me; many of them are here not knowing exactly what they want to do, but are still paying for an education in a career field that they may not pursue in their future. For me, I keep questioning why so many students choose to enroll in college if they don’t yet know what kind of job or career path that they want to follow. For parents, sending their kids to college stimulates many of the same protective factors as in the protection of their own home and family such as food and safety. While at school they would be taught responsibility and independence. College takes care of all of this. Many colleges offer meal plans that are available for students to make sure that they get three meals a day. Campus security provides protection at most college campuses if there was ever a threat. Students are in complete control of how to balance their social life with their academic responsibilities. This takes tremendous self control to fully apply one’s self to their classes without the supervision of an adult telling them to do their homework.
