As hurricane Harvey hit the city flooded with water and the internet flooded with fake information. The Houston airport was underwater leaving planes to float atop the flood, a shark swimming in the fast lane of highway I-10, and Obama passing out meals and blankets to the evacuees. These are all hoaxes that went viral during a natural disaster hurricane Harvey. During emergencies people will result to looking at facebook or twitter to try and update themselves with the current happenings of the affected area, so when a catchy photo is released people latch on to erroneous reports to fit their assumptions about the situation.
