Humanitarian Services
People all over the world are suffering from the effects of natural disasters, poverty, and war. There are two humanitarian organizations that offer a number of programs to assist those in need. The Cooperative for Assistance Relief Everywhere or C.A.R.E and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies or I.F.R.C, are two organizations that over relief to people all over the globe. Each of these organizations have several different programs specified to a particular need.

I.F.R.C offers services for disaster and crisis management, health and safety, and promoting principles and values. I.F.R.C provides “preparedness activities embedded with risk reduction measures to save as many lives and livelihoods before and during disasters” (www.IFRC.org). I.F.R.C responds effectively and rapidly to quickly mobilize resources, provide short and long term health and mental care to survivors, and helps rebuild individual homes and communities after the disaster has passed. I.F.R.C provides different sources for individuals and communities to have safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, and good hygiene practices. I.F.R.C also organizes safe and sustainable blood drives to ensure people in need of blood transfusions can receive blood free of any disease or foreign agents. I.F.R.C believes in seven fundamental principles, humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality (www.IFRC.org). I.F.R.C aims to promoted their seven principles and end violence all over the globe. I.F.R.C has developed violence prevention programs, rehabilitation of youth affected by violence, and programs to assist the disable.
