“More than 20 million Americans have died because of smoking since 1964, including approximately 2.5 million deaths due to exposure to secondhand smoke” (Tobacco Facts and Figures). Tobacco is a very common thing that is being used by all ages in the United States. Studies show that the use of tobacco has a negative effect on a human’s health and body. A couple different things will be discussed throughout the paper such as things like the cancers you can get, the effects on the body, and how it affects the body when you are pregnant.

When a woman is pregnant, she should make the decision to stop smoking that she can have a healthy body for herself and for her baby. By smoking she is doing more harm than good to her baby while it is still growing.

Why would a parent do something that could harm their baby in such a terrible way? Knowing that smoking while being pregnant is very bad, the parents should work very hard to stop smoking so they are able to prevent harmful injuries to their baby and to themselves.
