We first went to Presence Medical Center and did not receive our first call till 3:00 P.M. It was a transport for a 93-year-old female who had a closed fracture on her left femur. She recently had surgery to fix the fracture and from her medical papers it said she had a history of arthritis and chest pain. The patient was confused so we were unable to get a full detailed history and did not know the cause her fracture. The patient was alert because she was able to fully communicate and vocalized her pain because she was extremely sensitive to touch. Once we reached the nursing home, we transported her to her bed and transferred care to the nurses. Unfortunately, this was our only call of the day because medical dispatch called and told us to check the rig for something with the engine and the EMT’s I was with could not figure out what they were supposed to be looking for. They called medical control back and med control told them to return to the base since they could not figure out what was wrong with the
