The country of Brazil is a great example of that reaction. For example; throughout the years of 2010-2013 the Brazilians were purchasing lots of merchandise in the country and investing into the United States, but during the remaining months of 2013 through the beginning of 2016 when the dollar started becoming more expensive, the Brazilians started to invest less in the United States. Take for instance; the dollar exchange rate compared to the Reais just days before Trump got elected it was calculated at R$3.2095, but just one day after Trump got elected into office the difference of the dollar went up to R$3.37 (G1, em São Paulo). If somebody were to ask why was this reaction possible, then the Brazilian Newspaper O Globo is calling it “The Trump Effect.” The Trump Effect is way more than just an exchange rates effect.
