You will leave your trumpet in there for around fifteen minutes. When this time is up remove the trumpet and using the pipe snake clean the inside of each pipe carefully. Make sure to move the snake back and forth in order to thoroughly clean the pipes. You do not have to clean the bell area using the pipe snake. Once you have cleaned each pipe with the pipe snake take your valve brush and begin cleaning the empty valve casings. Be sure to clean each valve fully. Next take the valves that you removed from the trumpet and take the felt pads off of the valves. To do this unscrew the top finger pad on the valve, remove the cap of the valve and, finally remove the felt pad at the base of the valve. After this is done replace the cap and the finger pad and place the valve back into the trumpet. Once this is done let the instrument sit in the water for fifteen more
