In “Thomas Jefferson's Nation” by Stephen Ambrose, Ambrose informs us of Jefferson’s ideas westward expansion, and Ambrose gives a detailed account of how our country expanded. Jefferson had many great visions and he wasn’t afraid to share those ideas with our country. Jefferson wanted this country to thrive and be prosperous. Jefferson hired Lewis & Clark to explore the unknown land and document everything while on their journey, so America as we know it could proceed with westward expansion. Ambrose informed us about Lewis & Clark’s journey and used wordplay to make it seem more realistic, while informing us about some of the things Lewis & Clark experienced on their journey …show more content…
The events mentioned in this passage played a vital role in America’s expansion, because if one thing wouldn’t have worked out like it did, America could’ve been not even half of the size it is now. Jefferson seen the potential of America and took action, got a game plan together, built a team that could fulfill his visions, and took on the great journey. In this story we have learned about Jefferson’s visions, dreams, and actions that helped America thrive and grow Ambrose thoroughly explained the steps Jefferson took to prepare America for westward expansion, and gave details about the process that transitioned America into a bigger, stronger country.
