How I Braved Anu Aunty and Co-Founded a Million Dollar Company is the debut novel of author Varun Agarwal. He is one of the young and budding Indian entrepreneurs.

This novel is a non-fiction memoir of Varun’s experience and struggles he had while founding his own start-up called Alma Mater, way back in 2009. Varun in the beginning of the book itself warns the readers that he is no writer but is a storyteller and truly through the course of the book proves that he is a brilliant one. This book is set up in 2009, when Indians were not very open and welcoming of the idea of having a start up. In the book the writer establishes all the problems he had to face while starting his own business. This book is about Varun and his friend Mal’s journey

Varun begins the book by telling the readers that he had absolutely no clue as to what he wanted to do in his life apart from the fact that he wanted to carry out his own business. That element of the society who constantly criticizes ones work and tries to bring one down rather than empowering one another. That element of society who comments and influences others opinions without completely understanding the subject on what they are

It is important to start talking with anyone and everyone around you. You never know when someone’s story might just inspire you. Varun was inspired by a rickshaw pullers story, the story Mr. Rajan told him on the airplane. Friends also become an incredible help at times just like Varun got his friends to model for him for free and this also helped creating a buzz about Alma Mater. Having a few important contacts is very essential for an entrepreneur. Just like in Varun’s case Rohit guided him and got Alma Mater correctly valued.

An entrepreneur must be a risk taker and starting out young is the most ideal age because in case the business does not work we still have our parents as a cushion to fall back upon. Also at a young age we are responsible only for ourselves and no one else and the stakes are also low compared to later in life, when the stakes may be higher. And as Varun correctly believes Carpe Diem, seize the

As I Lay Dying is a very interesting book that can keep the reader involved from start to finish, the author draws the reader into the story to make them involved with the characters; while the character are put through real life situations which the reader can relate to. While Jewel symbolized the good side of human nature by caring for his mother and protecting her the best he can; even after she had passed away and they were on their way…
