How Does Technology Affect Our World

Improved Essays
Why is Technology Affecting our World? Albert Einstein once said, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.” Today in the year of 2016, I can see how technology is one of the most used things in the world. We no longer are the same people as back in the days with no technology. We now depend on technology for so many things. In my opinion, technology can be detrimental for the problems it is causing such as texting while driving, cyber bully, and mental health problems. As you are on the road, you can see that many people use their cell phones while driving. That is why texting while driving is a huge deal when it comes to accidents on the road. I feel like as the years have passed, texting while driving is becoming a bigger deal than drinking while driving. The technology was built to allow people to get information on things in a faster way, but the majority of the people use it in ways they are not supposed to. For that reason, technology is being used on the road, making the possibilities of having a car accident higher. Every day as you watch the news, you see a car accident and if you really pay attention, the majority of the accidents are caused by cell phones being used. Don’t think that texting while driving is the only effect. Another of the other big effects technology has is cyber bully. A cyberbully is something that is not supposed to happen but it does. Technology helps cyberbully by providing the intel of social media and online texting. What that causes is for anyone to make fun of other people through the internet. In my experience, I once helped a friend overcome cyberbully. She was in a bad place due to some awful comments about her online. They made fun of her because she weighed more than them, or because she ate more than them. She tried to hurt herself and was once in the hospital for trying to suicide, but it was all because what technology allows us to do. Technology can also affect your life if you start using technology too early. About two years ago I started to see that where ever you go toddlers had phones in their hands. When I first started to see this is with my cousin and he was two. I think he learned how to use a phone faster than I did. It is not good that kids have access o technology at an early age. What that does is take away their …show more content…
Technology helps people find things so much easier. Technology is used more in hospitals. It has been a great help to doctors because they can do research. Education has gotten better; students have more access to information online. One of the greatest improvements today is communication. It is way easier than what people had to do back then. Today we are able to communicate with the touch of a finger. We have texting which we don’t even have to talk and just type it in and hit send. I really don’t know what I would do without email. I think I wouldn’t be able to wait a week or two weeks for an answer. Another way we communicate is social media. We have Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, twitter, (etc.). They all allow us to show what we are doing and share it with our friends and

We are getting distracted from the road by our phones and the alerts its giving.
