Question: Which soda water is the most harmful towards human teeth (for this investigation I will use egg shells because they have more or less everything in common with a human tooth)?
Hypothesis: Coca Cola is the most harmful towards human teeth, and I say this because it contains more sugar than Coca Cola zero, Pepsi, Sprite and Distilled water, making it more harmful or corrosive to human teeth because this means that it produces more cavities, and we know that the sugars turn into acid and acid is corrosive that’s why it spoils and harms our teeth.
Variables:
Independent: the different types of soda drinks
Dependent: the decaying of the egg shell (which

Allocate one cup for each drink - one for Coca Cola, one for Coca Cola zero, one for Pepsi, one for Sprite, and lastly for the distilled water.
Step 2: Pour each liquid into the selected cup and drop in an egg for each labelled cup.
Step 3: Detect what happens to each egg shell each day, (Take note and record these observations in your notebook). Pick the egg out of the cup to look get a closer look but make sure you return it back inside after observing, (Now, don’t forget to compare these clarifications to that of the egg in the distilled water).
Step 4: Carry on doing this for a week and evaluate the trend if there is any (If you want to, you can make it a week and five days because the clearer the results will be if you make it stay longer).
Table of results:

    Hypertonic Egg Lab Report

In this experiment I attempted to created and study the affects of a egg in a hypertonic and hypotonic solution. To conduct this experiment I used the following materials: cups, eggs, vinegar, corn syrup, spoons and food coloring. To begin the experiment I placed three eggs in vinegar to dissolve their shells, leaving behind a thin membrane that allowed water to pass in and out of the eggs. The water molecules enter inside the eggs and the eggs begins to swell. Once the eggs have sat in the vinegar for two days I removed one from the vinegar, washed the eggs and placed it in the corn syrup.…

Then, the egg was removed from its solution, rinsed in tap water, and placed in a glass. Once in the glass dish, the dish was placed on a triple beam balance, and the final mass was measured and recorded. 29 Minutes after being submerged in tap water, observations pertaining to egg A (the egg submerged in tap water) were recorded, and the egg was removed from its solution, and placed in a glass dish, to be placed on the triple-beam balance. Once on the triple-beam balance, the final mass of egg A was measured and recorded. 28 Minutes after being covered in saltwater, observations of egg C (the egg submerged in saltwater) were made and recorded.…

The dependent variable would be the shells and what happened to the shells, if it breaks down. These three shells are different types than each other so they don't weigh the same amount. After the one week is up my partners helped me weigh all of the shells again, but first we have to wash and dry them so the excess amount of vinegar on the shells don't add weight to them. The shells are now washed and then put onto a scale, after 1 week cup one's shell now weighs 0.78g. The second cups shell now weighs 1.42g and last the third cup’s shell now weighs 0.45g.…

Independent Variable(s): Vinegar (200 mL), distilled water (200 mL), maple syrup (150 mL) Dependent Variable(s): Egg Problem: After twenty-four hours in each solution, what will happen to the egg and its mass? The solutions will make the mass of the egg increase and decrease depending on what the density of the liquid is. Hypothesis: If we put the egg in different solutions for twenty-four hours each then it will increase in volume when it's in the vinegar and distilled water but it will decrease in mass when you put it in maple syrup because when it's in the vinegar and distilled water, it has a larger density than the water and vinegar so it will absorb the water and vinegar, the mass will decrease in the maple syrup because the density…

During this experiment eggs were rolled on paper towels to blot the excess liquid and then weighed. They were then placed into one of six solutions immediately afterwards. In 15-minute intervals, the eggs were blotted and weighed again. This process was repeated four times, adding up to 60 minutes.…

Once the egg was decalcified, it felt very fragile and bouncy. When the egg didn’t have a shell anymore, it was kept from seeping out by the “plasma membrane” (egg white), which was congealed by the soaking in vinegar. When the nucleus of the egg became visible, it looked very cloudy. The substance that entered/left the egg in each situation was water, due to the state of the egg, by way of osmosis, in a way of trying to balance the inside and outside the “cell” (egg), this balance is essential to functioning at the preferred isotonic state. This lab could be improved by using 2 different eggs, as the data seemed inaccurate when placing a hypotonic egg into a solution of corn syrup made the egg hypertonic, because there wasn’t a proper start weight in the egg when placed in the second solution.…

In this lab, the effects of osmosis on an egg without a shell will be observed; an egg will be submerged in water and then corn syrup. Osmosis, the process of water moving from a low concentrated area to an area of high concentration, is the main theme of this lab. The purpose of this experiment is to view the effects of an egg in a hypertonic state, hypotonic state, isotonic state and diffusion. Hypertonic is the movement of water leaving the egg to an area of higher concentration. When this occurs the egg becomes shriveled.…

It was also hypothesized that if we place an egg in a high sucrose solution, then it would shrivel up, making it a hypertonic solution. The products of this experiment prove this hypothesis to be correct. The results show that as time increased, the weight change of the egg decreased. This completes the hypothesis because the high sucrose solution caused the egg to lose liquid and shrink in overall…

Introduction: Introduction and Theory: The lab conducted was to investigate the density of not only copper but also diet and non-diet soda. Techniques used in the experiment included water-displacement, measuring copper’s dimensions, and using volumetric pipettes to measure out specific soda volumes. Beginning Question(s): How does the use of two experimental methods, improve the chances of calculating the density of copper? How does the density of non-diet soda compare to that of diet soda measured at different volumes? Safety Statement: In both labs, students need to handle the volumetric pipettes, balance scales, and glass equipment carefully.…

I am trying to get to know my project of how the type of soda affects the soda “fountain” that it would create when a Mento is added. I am also trying to know what I should be doing. To do this, I have found various websites that help me understand my project better. First off, I found a website called Mental Floss, with the heading of “Why do Diet Coke and Mentos React” to figure out why Diet Coke erupts with a Mento. The eruption is so powerful, you can create a soda rocket from it.…

When we came back the second day we saw the egg looked like it enlarged, the shell looked like it was cracking, and felt bouncy. The egg weighed more than before, it weighed 80.23 grams. Our data supported the hypothesis because the shell wasn’t as hard as the day before. These days’ data was a hypotonic solution because there was no met movement of water, therefore the egg enlarged. On day two we recorded the data, then we poured the vinegar out of the cup and added distilled water in, to leave overnight.…
