In Ray Bradbury's All Summer In A Day, uses symbolism and descriptive language to educate and visualize what the children wanted, and needed. He used lots of descriptive language to help visualize the scene or setting of the story. Bradbury uses different authors craft to help transform the text. Although he uses similes there is more evidence of symbolism and descriptive language to describe the more important events. Ray Bradbury only adds similes to his story to make a comparison or metaphor. The author puts descriptive language to show a visual to the readers. A example of descriptive language is “The children press together like so many roses.” which describes how close the kids were to each other. A example of symbolism is “ a coin to buy the world with.” which symbolizes to Margot how much it means to her. overall , he uses much more symbolism and descriptive words than similes. …show more content…
“ They always awoke to the tatting drum.” which symbolizes what the kids hear everyday. “About how like a lemon it was, and how hot.” The children never knew what the sun looked, or felt like. A example of descriptive language is “ she wa san old photograph dusted from an album, whitened away.” We don't no what Margot looked like but we no what a old photograph looks like, from the text we could tell that she was very pale.
