I think that at one point or another everyone experiences a change in themselves or others. For some people it’s dressing different just because everyone else is dressed like that. Or maybe a family/friend died, and that person who lost someone suddenly became grateful for everyone/everything around them. In the book, Fahrenheit 451, the main character, Guy Montag experienced drastic changes throughout the book. Montag is just a normal citizen who follows the rules, but later becomes a bit rebellious towards the laws of his society.

So, once when Montag was walking home, he met his 17 year old neighbor, Clarisse, who made Montag question his life. “Then she seemed to remember something and came back to look at him with wonder and curiosity. ‘Are you happy?’ She said” (Bradbury 10). After being asked this question by Clarisse, Montag started realizing things he hadn’t realized before. Maybe Montag wasn’t happy, and maybe now he was just realizing it. Later, Clarisse tells Montag that the test she took on him said that he wasn’t in love, and Montag later asked his wife a simple question. “When did we meet” (Bradbury 42)? When Mildred didn’t know the answer, Montag knew that their marriage wasn’t anything special and that if he died one day, Mildred wouldn’t care, and neither would anyone else. One day after work, Montag felt guilt because he burnt a woman, and before he met Clarisse, he would’ve never realized it was very wrong.
